From March 18th to 19th, our school, together with Central South University, Northeastern University, Sichuan University, and other institutions, jointly organized the "2nd National Advanced Conference on Fabrication, Processing, and Application of Metallic Functional Materials Technology Exchange" in Hefei. The School Party Committee Standing Committee member and Vice President Ji Yihong, Vice President Hu Yaolong from Changsha University of Science and Technology, former Vice President of Central South University and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy Zhou Kechao, Yang Ke, a researcher from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Li Zhou, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Central South University, Qin Gaowu, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Northeastern University, and other experts were invited to attend the conference.
At the opening ceremony, Ji Yihong expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the experts for their participation. He stated that organizing the 2nd National Advanced Conference on Fabrication, Processing, and Application of Metallic Functional Materials Technology Exchange is of great significance for strengthening cooperation and exchanges between domestic and foreign new material enterprises and research institutes in industry-academic-research collaboration. It aims to promote coordinated development among various enterprises and research institutions in the metal functional materials industry, vigorously promote demonstration project achievements and experiences, and enhance the country's core competitiveness. He also mentioned that Hefei University of Technology will spare no effort to ensure the success of the conference and build a high-level platform for communication. They are committed to making more innovative achievements in related fields.
The conference focused on key topics such as functional metal matrix composites, biomedical metallic materials, high conductivity and thermal conductivity metallic materials, hydrogen storage and catalysis metallic materials, magnetic materials and electronic devices, metal targets and thin film devices, metal functional powder materials, and coating preparation technology. There were both plenary sessions and five parallel sessions featuring expert reports from renowned experts, scholars, and representatives from domestic metal functional materials industries. Over 200 people attended the conference and presented special reports on new material technology development.
This conference strengthened the cooperation and exchange between our school's research team and domestic sister universities. It has a positive promoting role in talent cultivation and team building within our school.
