The Department of Materials Forming and Control Engineering was founded in 1958. In 2001, this major was awarded as a key discipline in Anhui Province, and in 2010, it was awarded as a national characteristic major. In 2021, it was approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site. There are currently 33 full-time teachers, including 11 professors, 15 associate professors (associate researchers), and 7 lecturers.
