In order to further implement scientific and technological innovation to promote the high-quality development of the food industry and implement the decision of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Government on building a high-end green food industry in northern Anhui, on October 17, 2023, Professor Xu Baocai, Dean of the School of Food and Biological Engineering, was invited by the Fuyang Municipal People's Government to visit the green food industry in Fuyang City, and Professor Zhou Hui and young teacher Dr. Zhou Kai of the School of Food and Biological Engineering participated in the inspection.
Professor Xu Baocai and his entourage attended the special training meeting on green food industry hosted by the Fuyang Municipal Government, and more than 300 people attended the meeting, including the relevant leaders of the Fuyang Municipal Government, the leaders of the relevant units directly under the municipal government, the heads of the relevant district units, counties and township governments, and the training meeting was presided over by Shi Li, Deputy Secretary-General of the Fuyang Municipal Party Committee. Professor Xu Baocai gave a keynote report on“the status quo and development of the green food industry”, he introduced the current situation and development trend of China's green food industry, and took the prefabricated food industry as a typical case to analyze the existing problems of China's prefabricated food industry from the aspects of industrial development process, scientific and technological innovation, industrial structure, etc., analyzed the hot spots and future development trends of the prefabricated food industry, put forward measures to promote the high-quality development of the green food industry, andhe introduced the achievements of the School of Food and Biological Engineering in recent years in talent training, scientific and technological innovation, and service industry in the food industry.
After the training meeting, Professor Xu Baocai and his entourage, accompanied by Qu Huazhang, Director of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Yingdong District, Fuyang City, visited Fuyang Yingdong Green Food Industrial Park and inspected the development status of green food industry in Fuyang City, related leading enterprises and characteristic products. Then he inspected Fuyang Jiannuo Biotechnology Company, which mainly deals in dairy products, health food, infant formula food, food additives, formula food for special medical purposes and other products.
For a long time, the School of Food and Biological Engineering of Hefei University of Technology has cultivated a large number of high-quality scientific and technological talents for the green food industry in Anhui Province with the educational concept of "food safety home, medicine to help people's livelihood";with the working concept of "cohesion, innovative development, open cooperation, hard work and enterprising", it serves industry enterprises, rural revitalization and regional food science and technology development, and has achieved significant economic and social benefits, promoting the high-quality development of green food industry in Anhui Province.
After this inspection, the School of Food and Biological Engineering fully understood the development status, development concept, development planning and development needs of Fuyang green food industry, and the Fuyang Municipal Government had a comprehensive understanding of the college's scientific research achievements, talent cultivation, production, education and research results, scientific and technological service achievements, etc., and the activity laid a solid foundation for the next comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two sides.
