On August 27, 2024, the 2024 "CSC Alumni Gathering" and the themed exchange event on the high-quality development of Mengcheng's green food industry, hosted by the China Scholarship Council and co-organized by Hefei University of Technology and the People's Government of Mengcheng County, was successfully held in Mengcheng. Professor Wang Huili, Deputy Director of the School of Food and Biological Engineering, and Tu Jian, Deputy County Mayor of Mengcheng County People's Government, attended the event. Professor Zhong Xiyang, Researcher Zhou Hui, Professor Wang Junhui, and other faculty representatives from the School of Food and Biological Engineering were also invited to participate in this event.


At the opening ceremony, Professor Wang Huili, Deputy Director of the School of Food and Biological Engineering, delivered a speech. Professor Wang Huili noted that this event marks a new starting point for government-industry-university-research cooperation, establishing an important platform for talent recruitment, intellectual input, achievement transformation, and innovative development. The event will help Mengcheng County's food and agricultural and sideline products processing industry move towards a 10-billion-yuan scale and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Mengcheng's green food industry. Following the opening ceremony, Professor Wang Junhui from Hefei University of Technology presented a promotional report on the team's latest scientific research achievements at the conference. The exchange event featured three sub-venues. Dong Hui, Deputy County Mayor of Mengcheng County People's Government, attended. Sixteen CSC alumni, including Associate Professor Pang Min and Associate Professor Tao Han from the School of Food and Biological Engineering, shared their research highlights, innovative technological achievements, and overseas study experiences in their respective fields. They also engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions with participating scholars and representatives from relevant enterprises in Mengcheng on industrial challenges in various fields such as fruits and vegetables, livestock and aquatic products, grains and oils.

On August 28th, experts and scholars from the "CSC Alumni Gathering" visited several green food enterprises in Mengcheng County, including Huangniu Town Beef Cattle Farm, Baocheng Edible Fungi, Tiantian Noodles, and Zhongyuan Food, to conduct inspections and investigations into the enterprises' food processing and product development efforts. They discussed industry trends, market demands, and potential future collaborations. The exchange event aimed to promote integrated industry-academia-research cooperation, facilitate the effective transformation of scientific research achievements, and jointly propel the industry to new heights.
